Who Is Sapulpa’s Dawson Goodlin – Presented by Tulsa Bone & Joint

VYPE: Dawson, what position do you play and what makes that position difficult to master?

Dawson Goodlin: I play safety and the hardest thing about my position is just knowing where to be at the right time and that’s what I’m best at and coming down hill and knowing how to tackle.

VYPE: What do you love most about being a student-athlete at SHS?

DG: I love the atmosphere here at Sapulpa, the coaches push us harder and harder every day and the teammates I have were all super close and like brothers.

VYPE: Biggest surprise of your career thus far?

DG: The biggest surprise of my career so far was my pick-6 versus Tahlequah.

VYPE: Favorite moment on the field, besides the pick-6.

DG: My favorite moment was beating Muskogee because we went into the game with a chip on our shoulder and had to prove what we could do.

VYPE: Favorite subject and teacher in school?

DG: My favorite subject is probably Spanish because I like learning different cultures and my favorite teacher is Coach Rains, he’s my dude.

VYPE: Who inspires you?

DG: My big brothers and my mom inspire me the most in life.

VYPE: Which teammate is the most vocal and who keeps everyone laughing?

DG: The most vocal teammate we have is Brice Currin. I feel like because he’s not afraid to say something to anyone and the teammate that keeps everyone laughing is probably Jack Madden, he’s just a funny guy.

VYPE: What has athletics taught you that you can use in life?

DG: Athletics has taught me to be coachable and listen in life no matter what.
