SAPULPA CHIEFTAINS
Coach: TIM HOLT JR.
7-4
Sapulpa looks to be “extremely competitive on both sides of the ball” in 2026 with a large group of returners and proven playmakers across the roster. Head coach Tim Holt Jr., now in his fifth year at the school, notes that the Chieftains bring back eight offensive starters and six defensive starters from a 7-4 team, including a three-year starter at quarterback.
In the spread attack, quarterback Braddox Broughton (6-1, 200, Sr.) returns to guide the offense after throwing for 1,600 yards and 20 touchdowns over eight games last season. Senior running back and defensive back Michael Bennett (6-0, 205) is a key weapon, producing 350 rushing yards, 250 receiving yards and eight total touchdowns in 2025 while drawing multiple college offers. On the perimeter, receiver Brice Currin (5-9, 165, Sr.) posted 216 receiving yards and eight touchdowns, and fellow senior receiver Landon Barber (6-1, 185) added 600 receiving yards and six scores, giving Broughton two proven targets. Up front, senior linemen Kam George (6-1, 280) and Thomas Lopez (6-3, 300) bring size and experience to the offensive line, helping Sapulpa spread defenses out while still playing physically. Holt reiterates that the Chieftains want to “spread people out and let them try and figure out how to match our speed,” using Broughton, Bennett and the receiving corps to stress defenses vertically and horizontally.

Defensively, Sapulpa bases out of a 3-4 look designed to create pressure so its athletes can run in space and tackle. Bennett again leads the way at safety and in the secondary, where he recorded 73 tackles, eight tackles for loss, eight pass breakups and three interceptions. Fellow safety Dawson Goodlin (6-1, 180, Sr.) adds another experienced presence after registering 75 tackles, two tackles for loss, six pass breakups and four interceptions. Up front, Rylan Watson (6-0, 235, Jr.) plays both defensive line and outside linebacker and finished with 56 tackles, three tackles for loss and three sacks, while senior defensive lineman Logan Mason (6-3, 250) made 26 tackles, including 10 for loss and four sacks. Cornerback MaSiah Felder (6-0, 165, Sr.) contributed 32 tackles, seven pass breakups and two interceptions, and George adds more disruption on the defensive line with 22 tackles, six tackles for loss and four sacks. Holt points to Bennett as one of the most explosive players he has coached, praising his character and work ethic, and highlights tight end/defensive end Brodie Chalakee as an underclassman whose size, effort and emerging recruitment make him a rising star.
