VYPE: What do you love most about tennis?
Lara Dehya: The thrill of competition and the satisfaction of improving and pushing my skills with each match.
VYPE: What life lessons or skills has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
LD: How to lose and accept it, learn from my mistakes and move on while still trying to do my best and improve.
VYPE: Why are you passionate about tennis?
LD: I love the challenges and pushing myself to be better. I also love meeting people who are better than me, which pushes me to try harder. There is something about the sense of accomplishment I feel whenever I play a good match.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
LD: Mr. Thompson, my history teacher this year. He encourages our class to do better and to put in the work to be better, which I find inspiring.

LD: Alex, a senior on our team. Her work ethic and dedication have motivated me to become a better player.
VYPE: What is your favorite memory from playing your sport?
LD: Winning tournaments last year with my teammates while supporting each other as a result of our hard work and determination.
VYPE: What is the best advice anyone has given you?
LD: Never give up and keep fighting until the last second with everything you’ve got until the very end. This advice has helped me stay focused and persistent.
VYPE: Do you have any hobbies or anything special you want to share about yourself?
LD: I enjoy drawing and reading in my spare time. It’s a great way to relax and unwind.
VYPE: What is the best vacation you have taken and what made it special?
LD: There was a summer when me and my brother learned to scuba dive. It was so fun and I loved exploring the sea with friends. Learning and exploring the sea with friends and family is what made this vacation so memorable.
