OWASSO LADY RAMS
Coach: Kendall Woodward
23-24 Record: 22-6
OUTLOOK
It’s a good mix of experience, youth and athleticism for head coach Kendall Woodward coming into the new season.
“We return two starters from last year, Madi Hill and Jayelle Austin, that will continue to anchor our team on both sides of the court. Overall, we are a young team compared to last year. We have some new faces on our team that have great potential along with a couple young returners that saw minutes during last season,” said coach Woodward.
Madi Hill (5-10, So.) and Jayelle Austin (5-9, Sr.) certainly have big roles on the team again this season and will need to help inexperienced player get up to speed. Both are forwards who can handle the ball and work in the paint. Sarah Yokley (5-11, Jr.) is a stretch-guard with tremendous range shooting the three and brings the ability to play tough defense. With a high basketball IQ and a willingness to do whatever it takes to help her team, Yokley could be the X-factor for the Lady Rams this season.
“ ”Macee Pruitt (5-6, Fr.) is an exciting underclassman who plays an up-tempo style and understands the meaning of hustle. A pair of senior guards are expected to contribute this season as well. Jordyn Alexander (5-5, Sr.), Trailee Watson (5-5, Sr.) and Sydnee Thomas (5-7, Jr.) give the Lady Rams three excellent options in the backcourt. Alexander is known for being an uplifting teammate and someone who leads by example. Katelynn Knight (5-9, Jr.) is another post player who coach Woodward can use alongside Kaylee Crawford (5-8, Jr.).
Anna Sudbeck (5-11, Fr.) leads a talented group of underclassmen that includes Annabelle Nguoan (5-7, So.) at guard, Kalai Johnson (5-5, So.) at guard, Emma Decoster (5-11, Fr.) at post, Maddi McGlasson (5-4, Fr.) at guard, and Anna Schlichter (5-8, Fr.) at post.
