VYPE: Trevor, what grade are you in this year and what position are you playing for the Bulldogs in basketball?
Trevor Matthews: I’m a senior and I play point guard.
VYPE: What age did you start playing basketball?
TM: I started playing basketball in the 3rd grade.
VYPE: I’m sure you have a lot of great memories. Tell me one that stands out for you.
TM: Getting my career high of 38 points in a game.
VYPE: What would you say is the strength of your game and what have you improved on the most for this season?
TM: My strength is going to score at the rim and my passing has improved a lot.
VYPE: What makes Skiatook High School a great place to be a student-athlete?
TM: Good teammates and good supporters.
VYPE: Is there a teammate who has impressed you this season?
TM: I’ve been impressed by my teammate Julian Baldino’s shooting ability.
VYPE: Who keeps everyone laughing and who is the most serious?
TM: Hunter Howell keeps everyone laughing and Cody Dearing is the most serious.
VYPE: How do you mentally prepare yourself for competition?
TM: Listening to calm music.
VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates?
TM: The chemistry we have on and off the court and I only play basketball.
VYPE: Bonus question – what is the goal for life after college?
TM: To play in college and be a coach one day.
