OWASSO LADY RAMS
Coach: SHANE EICHER
32-6
OUTLOOK
Graduation may have taken its toll on the Lady Rams after winning a state title, but head coach Shane Eicher believes in the players on the roster and what they are capable of when they play as a team. A new district will offer some new challenges but expect the Lady Rams to remained poised and ready to compete.
“We will be losing so really good players from this year’s state championship team, but our young kids who have been waiting for their chance are ready to step up and face the challenge. We will be in a new and very challenging district next season so it’s going to be difficult,” said coach Eicher.
First baseman Ty Edwards (Sr.) is a Southern Illinois commit and someone who is known for being an outstanding defensive player in the field and someone with good pop on her bat. Edwards can hit the long ball and is an offensive threat every time she steps to the plate. She can also play third base and catcher.
Another standout player still on the roster is KK Knight. Knight is a four-year starter and a University of Missouri commit. Knight made her commitment to Mizzou in October of last season. Now that her senior year is here, Knight is looking forward to helping the Lady Rams make another run and go back-to-back this season.
The future of the team may lye in the hands of Kaylee Isam, a sophomore who started as a freshman at shortstop and played outstanding for coach Eicher. Isam was named the Owasso Track & Field Freshman of the Year and will likely see recruiting efforts pick up this season as more coaches at the next level have an opportunity to see her play.
If it’s hard work you like, look no further than Allie Flanagan. The sophomore has worked hard to improve at the plate and could find herself in a starting role at centerfield. Coach Eicher said of Flanagan, “She has a ton of upside, and she is always wanting to get better.”
The same can be said for Baylee Brooks who is willing to play wherever the team needs her. The overall success of the team is her priority, and she is someone who gives 100 percent on every play.
Overall, the team is shaping up for another run at history. A new and difficult district will test this team but look for them to respond the way you expect the Lady Rams to respond.
