COLLINSVILLE LADY CARDINALS

Coach: KYLEE COLE

19-14

OUTLOOK

Entering her fourth season at CHS, head coach Kylee Cole returns a solid nucleus of players who are eager to get on the field and compete for the Cardinals. Coach Cole took the Cardinals to a record of 19-14 last season despite facing a tough schedule.

Several players are ready to take on leadership roles this season including Cadyn Ford who will play centerfield. Coach Cole said Ford is, “an intricate piece of our team and runs the outfield like a boss.” Ford isn’t the only player who runs things like a boss.

Parker Knight brings stellar defense and a lively bat to every game. Knight plays with passion and is one of the top players in the class.

“Parker is a fantastic athlete and helps our team in every facet of the game. Her intensity and passion for the game are so much fun to witness. Offensively, Parker has the ability to change the game in so many ways. She is powerful, fast, and very intelligent on the bases. PK is also a defensive rock,” said coach Cole.

The steady force on the team is Mollie Cavanaugh who has developed into a confident player who is driven and focused. Cavanaugh is the kind of leader every team needs on the field, on the bus and in the classroom.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed watching her grow into the confident athlete she is. Mollie is kind, funny, driven, focused …. but with the perfect dash of ornery. I can fully trust her to handle/ lead through any situation with grace,” said coach Cole.

This team has something for every situation. Toughness: Ashtyn Gilkey, a pure athlete who is Collinsville’s first female state champion wrestler. Attention to Detail: Adde Davison, an underclassman who does everything she is asked and puts in a lot of work on her own. The chemistry of this team and the talent holding the gloves will take this team a long way this season.
