COLLINSVILLE CARDINALS

Coach: TODD ANDERSON

2024-25 Record: 17-12

OUTLOOK

The Cardinals are locked in and ready to tip off a new season under head coach Rodd Anderson. Anderson said the team is returning five of eight players who played a significant role last season.

“Have several new players to the lineup that are ready to contribute in impact roles. We look to be able to compete and have a chance to win every night we take the court. We are in a tough district with quality teams up and down the schedule, and we will be in the Lincoln Christian and Inola tournaments this year,” coach Anderson said.

Returning guard and leading scorer Dylan Scyrkels (6-4, Sr.) is back after averaging 14 points a game last season. A two-year starter, Scyrkels not only averages double digits in points, but is a solid rebounder as well. During the Area Tournament, he hit the winning shot against Tulsa Rogers to keep the team in the playoffs.

Brevin Walters (6-3, Jr.) returns at guard after averaging 12 points last season. Like Scyrkels, Walters is a two-year starter and someone who can make big plays for the Cardinals. Also a great defender, Walters will lock up the opposing teams best offensive threat.

The roster is loaded with seniors including Cal Schlomann (5-10, Sr.) at guard, Jarrett Bristol (6-1, Sr.) at guard, Eli Dick (5-10, Sr.) at guard, Payton Gall (6-1, Sr.) at guard, and Maverick Davis (6-4, Sr.) at forward. This group is focused and ready to help this team take the next step.

Other players to watch include Kyler Lee (6-1, Jr.) at guard, Kade Lee (6-1, Jr.) at guard, Jaylen Blyden (5-11, Jr.) at guard and Carter Davis (6-5, So.) at forward.
