
VYPE: What grade are you in, and what e-sports games do you compete in?
Ryder: I am a freshman at Catoosa High School. I play Super Smash Bros., Rocket League, and Mario Kart 8.
VYPE: What awards or titles have you won?
Ryder: I won Rookie MVP 2025 for my e-sports team.
VYPE: What has been the highlight moment of your career?
Ryder: The moment for me is when I paired against seniors in Rocket League and 8-0’d them.
VYPE: What motivates you?
Ryder: I want to get better at games and maybe eventually get into professional e-sports or game design.
VYPE: What does it mean to you to represent your school and community when you play?
Ryder: To make the school more well-known, to get us more wins, and to get e-sports in general a bigger program.
VYPE: Who are some of your biggest influences or role models?
Ryder: I don’t have many, but the closest is Gackt; he is one of the only professional NES mains, where I found my play style.
VYPE: What teacher has had the biggest impact on your life?
Ryder: Coach Cheeves has had the biggest impact on me by providing the best energy for his classes, and I really appreciate that about him.
VYPE: Who is your favorite person you follow on social media?
Ryder: August the Duck because he is a great commentary YouTuber, and I agree with most of the takes he has.
VYPE: What clubs and campus activities are you involved with?
Ryder: I’m involved in e-sports and OCC, which stands for Opening and Closing Ceremonies with the Future Farmers of America. In OCC, I serve as the Reporter, taking on the role of an FFA officer during meetings. Each of us has specific lines to memorize, and we compete to see which team can deliver them most accurately and professionally. The goal is to earn the highest ranking through strong presentation and teamwork.
