
Carter Kornegay
Collinsville High School
Carter Kornegay is a defensive specialist for the Collinsville Lady Cardinals varsity volleyball team. She started playing the sport at a young age and his continued to play through her final year of high school.
“I started at 11 years old and in fifth grade. I am currently 18 years old and a senior,” said Kornegay.
Representing CHS has been a great experience for Kornegay who said she loves being around her teammates.
“I love how much fun we have on and off the court, and how we joke about everything,” Kornegay said. “Milee Thomas keeps everyone laughing with all her jokes and Ellah Burton is the most serious on the court.”
Kornegay said she has been impressed with all of her teammates this season.
“I was impressed with how positive we all stayed on the court even when we were losing the set or match.”
When she has some free time, Kornegay said she enjoys spending it with friends and family.
“I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, as well as playing tennis and showing cattle.”
After graduation, Kornegay plans to attend Oklahoma State University and major in pre-pharmacy.
