VYPE: What grade are you in and what position do you play?
Taylor Mendez: I am a senior and I play forward and right wing.
VYPE:How long have you played soccer and who is your favorite player?
TM: I have played soccer for eight years and my favorite soccer player is Lionel Messi.
VYPE: What’s your favorite subject in school and do you have a favorite teacher?
TM: My favorite subject is math, and my favorite teacher is Ms. Miller.
VYPE: What do you love most about being a student-athlete at Sand Springs HS?
“ ”TM: What I love most about being a student-athlete at Sand Springs is the coaching staff because they are motivating and consistent with practices. They show they care a lot for our program in many different ways.
VYPE: Which teammate always impresses you the most or do you have a former teammate who left an impression on you?
TM: A former teammate that has always stood out to me and left an impression on me is Sharon Moncada from my old club team Legacy and high-school team back in California.
VYPE: What part of your game is most improved coming into this season?
TM: I’ve improved most on my ball control.
VYPE: If you could watch a match anywhere in the world, where would you go?
TM: If I could watch a match anywhere in the world I would go to Barcelona Spain.
VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?
TM: After I graduate, I plan on continuing my soccer career at Rogers Stare University. But, I also plan on getting my real estate license and majoring in business.
VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
TM: In my free time I enjoy taking my dogs for a walk, hanging out with my friends and working out.
